Pool Fun at Home

June 7
We bought this pool last year thinking I would play in it with Brayden last summer, but it was still in the box this summer. So we busted it out and Brayden had big fun! He loves the water!

Cool dude!

Brayden learned to jump, sortof, he says "jump" and bends his legs and comes up, but he gets no air. Until today that is, he found that in the pool he could jump and throw his legs out and land on his bottom in the pool and it was great fun! So he did this over and over again! A few days later, though, he tried it in the house twice and found it wasn't that much fun when he hit the hard floor with his bottom and kinda jarred his whole body. He didn't cry, but he hasn't done it again since.

He also loved drinking the pool water. That's his other favorite thing to do, kinda yucky, but what'cha gonna do?

Memorial Day Weekend at the Lakehouse

May 24
We spent Memorial Day weekend at the Lakehouse with family. Unfortunately, it rained most of the weekend so there wasn't a bunch of playtime outside. We still enjoyed the time hanging out with family.
Who's here ???

Brayden enjoyed playing with the big dogs for a change. Our dogs are still a little gun shy from Brayden, we are still working on the meaning of gentle.

Hey, sleepy boy!
Brayden was so worn out, he was falling asleep in the high chair. Instead of putting him to bed like a good mommy, I was snapping pictures. Okay eventually, I did put him down for a nap.

He thought it was funny each time he came to, because he was the center of attention at that moment and of course, we were all giggling.

He went down for a nap after this!

Helping Grandpa get ready for a boat ride

Always wanting to drive

Not so crazy about his first time in the life jacket, but he got used to it and was a good sport.

He actually loved the boat ride, but because it was in the evening, it actually ended up being cool on the water. So for the rest of the ride he ended up bundled up in a towel like a burrito. He was snug as a bug in a rug, so much so he was almost lulled asleep. Then, true to form, he would pop his head up and want to take in all the scenery.

Tenney and Yvonne's wedding

May 22
Tenney Way is a very good friend of the family (and Buddy's boss) and we were happy to be a part of their new beginning. It was quite a night, food, fun, cake, and dancing were enjoyed by all, but especially Brayden. He partied like a rock star!
The happy couple

So anyone who has or has had a child at this age knows it's almost impossible to keep them seateed and still at this age. To make it worse we were in Brayden's favorite playground, the outdoors. So during the wedding (which was outdoors) he proceeded to squirm, run around (luckily behind the ceremony and guests), find the tub of water, play in the ice, try to remove all the water bottles, try to drink all the water bottles, bring them to Mommy and Daddy, and scream if you tried to be a decent parent and remove him from the distracting situation encroaching upon us, thus making it more distracting. So for the time being, to avoid an embarrassing moment, he played in the ice and we returned all the unslobbered on waters later. What are you gonna do, you pick your battles right?
